About FRND: Talk to Friends Online

FRND is an India-focused social app for live audio chats, video calls, games and meeting new people. Its language support and lively rooms are appealing, but complaints about coin deductions, high costs, account blocking and weak support make it a cautious download.

FRND: Talk to Friends Online is made for people who want to meet strangers through live conversation. It offers audio calls, video chat, group rooms, games, gifts and regional-language matching. It is an India-focused app with 50M+ downloads and a 3.8-star Google Play rating from roughly 585,000 reviews.

That reach does not make it an automatic recommendation. FRND looks fun and easy to enter, but the coin system and repeated complaints about blocked accounts deserve attention before you spend money.

What kind of social app is FRND?

FRND feels closer to a live social hangout than a normal messaging app. You can join voice conversations, enter group rooms, try games and contact people you do not already know. The listing also promotes private video chat, virtual gifts and nearby-friend discovery.

This format may suit someone who finds text-only apps dull. A live room gives you something to do straight away. Games and prompts can make the first conversation less awkward.

It is not the best match for people who want quiet, private messaging with known friends. Much of the appeal depends on the quality of the rooms and the people online when you open the app.

Regional languages are a strong reason to try it

FRND puts language choice near the centre of its experience. The listing names Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Odia, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani and Haryanvi. Its store artwork shows more language options too.

That makes the app more approachable for people who do not want to use English in every conversation. It is a useful difference from many global social platforms.

Do not assume the language filter will always work perfectly. One supplied review says the user paid to talk in a chosen language but was connected to another one. That is one person’s experience, but it is a good reason to check the language before starting a paid call.

Games and rooms give strangers something to talk about

The app promotes FRND Radio, live group chats, multiplayer games, quizzes and LoveSkool content. Its store images show activities such as dumb charades and conversation prompts. These features give users an easy opening instead of forcing them to send a plain “hi”.

FRND Making Rooms are described as spaces where hosts or experts help people find friends. LoveSkool is advertised with celebrity rooms, star trainers, quizzes and videos about relationships and friendship. Availability may vary by room and time, so do not install expecting a particular celebrity or host to be online.

Users can also apply to become a FRND RJ and host voice or video shows. The app presents this as a way to entertain listeners and discuss friendship, relationships and heartbreak.

An avatar helps you start, but it is not privacy

FRND lets users create an avatar instead of using a regular profile picture. That may make joining feel less uncomfortable, especially for someone who does not want to show their face immediately.

The app also markets women’s safety, private chat options and action against fake profiles or inappropriate behaviour. These are promises from the developer. The screenshots cannot verify how well the protections work in daily use.

Google Play’s data-safety page says the app may collect location, personal information and other data types. It also says the app may share app information, performance data and device or other IDs. Google Play reports encryption in transit and an option to request data deletion. These disclosures come from the developer and are not an independent security test.

Use a nickname if the app allows it. Keep your profile free of your address, workplace, school and other details that can identify you. Do not move to another app or share a phone number just because someone seems friendly.

The coin system changes the value question

FRND uses virtual coins for at least some calls and chats. The app also advertises virtual gifts, but the supplied evidence does not confirm that gifts use coins. The app can be installed for free, but the social experience may become expensive once you start using paid features.

Several supplied reviews complain that coins disappear quickly or are deducted when the user says no call took place. Other users say the displayed per-minute rate did not match what support told them. These claims are not independently verified, so they should not be called proven fraud. They are still serious enough to affect a download decision.

  • Check the coin balance before and after a short call.
  • Read the current rate shown on the payment or call screen.
  • Take a screenshot if the balance changes unexpectedly.
  • Do not buy a large coin package during your first session.
  • Check Google Play’s refund process before making a purchase.

A simple subscription or recharge model would be easier for many people to understand. Some users in the review sample ask for exactly that. Until then, treat every live call as a paid activity unless the screen clearly says otherwise.

Blocked accounts are the biggest warning sign

The most repeated complaint in the supplied reviews is sudden account, ID or device blocking. One user says they were blocked after their first chat. Others say they were blocked while using games or normal chat and were not given a clear explanation.

A few reviewers also say they could not create another account after a device block. These are user reports, not proof that the app blocks people unfairly in every case. Still, a social app becomes difficult to trust when users cannot understand a restriction or appeal it easily.

There are other complaints too. Users mention connection errors, glitches, difficulty finding old chat spaces and support replies that feel copied or unhelpful. One person reported a fake profile using their personal information. That is an individual report, but it is a reminder to report impersonation quickly and avoid uploading sensitive material.

Who should install FRND?

FRND is a reasonable trial for adults who want live conversations in Indian regional languages and enjoy casual games or group rooms. It may also appeal to people who like hosting, audience interaction and virtual gifts.

Be more careful if you:

  • want a completely free chat service;
  • need clear, predictable pricing;
  • are uncomfortable talking to strangers by voice or video;
  • need strong control over who can contact you;
  • cannot afford to lose money if a payment or account problem occurs;
  • are under 18 and do not have an adult helping you use the app.

Try it slowly, not with a big recharge

FRND has a clear idea and a large audience. Its language choices, live rooms and games make it more welcoming than a blank chat screen. The app can be enjoyable when the right room and conversation are available.

The problem is trust. Coin complaints, unexplained blocks and poor support appear often in the supplied reviews. The latest Google Play update promises faster calls, bug fixes and better performance, but it does not say whether those larger complaints were fixed.

Our advice is simple: install only if the live social format appeals to you, keep your personal details limited, test free features first and spend no more than you can afford to lose. FRND is worth a cautious look, not a blind payment.

AISHWARYA M B ★★☆☆☆ v2.353

The app is good, but the frequent ID blocking is really frustrating. Many times, IDs get blocked, when we haven’t done anything wrong or violated any rules. This is happening quite often now. Please look into this issue and fix the unnecessary ID blocking. Users should be able to use the app without constantly worrying about their IDs being blocked.

Motivational Precise ★☆☆☆☆ v2.354.3

Do not install the Frnd app. It deducts coins even when no call has been made. There is no call entry in my recent call history, yet coins are being deducted. The support team keeps repeating the same thing, saying that a call was made because it is showing in their system. This is a fraudulent app. Please be careful and avoid installing it.

Ritik Bodade ★☆☆☆☆ v2.353

The app is good and easy to use, but it is way too expensive. You have to buy a lot of coins, and even after buying them, calls and chats use up coins very quickly. It ends up being really costly and not affordable for many people. I hope the developers can reduce the coin prices or provide better value for users.

Priyanka Samal ★★☆☆☆ v2.353

I have been using this app for three months and my account had some money in it. Then the app unexpectedly blocked me. Since being blocked, despite my attempts to unlock it, I am unable to do so; it only displays a message saying my device is blocked. Furthermore, I cannot even create a new account, and any phone I try to log in with gets blocked as well.

Sreenand K ★☆☆☆☆ v2.351

Hello. As I mentioned before, the per-minute charge was 60 coins. You replied by saying that it is 15 coins per minute. However, it is still showing 60 coins per minute. Please don't provide incorrect information or mislead users. Either be truthful or update the rate to 15 coins per minute, as you claimed. I am totally disappointed with this experience from frnd app.🙏

Aesthetic ★☆☆☆☆ v2.353

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience on the FRND app. My account has been blocked even though I followed each and every guideline and used the app responsibly. I have always tried to follow the rules, yet my account was suddenly restricted without any clear explanation. I have spent a lot of time and effort on this app, and it’s frustrating to lose access without being properly informed about what went wrong. If there was any violation, FRND should clearly explain the reason and give t

Mitlesh ★★★☆☆ v2.353

it's a nice platform to make friends, enjoy and explore. but many of the users got blocked without any valid reason including myself. I was playing antakshari with everyone and suddenly I was blocked by the app. like wth bro. I downloaded the app just yesterday night and never ever used any inappropriate word or did anything wrong. then just why ???? Please fix this glitch as many of the users were facing the same problem specially the female accounts.

Saheb Naskar ★☆☆☆☆ v2.355.1

I would like to suggest one change to the FRND app. Please consider removing the coin-based system and introducing a simple recharge/subscription system, similar to a mobile phone recharge. I believe many more people would be willing to subscribe if they could directly recharge and use the app without worrying about coins. The current coin system may discourage some users, causing them to leave and use other apps instead. If you introduce a simple and affordable recharge or subscription system,

SHIVANI PATEL ★☆☆☆☆ v2.352

Worst experience. Blocked my account on the very first chat without any reason, I was just join there didn't know about anything, joined my first chat and got blocked my ID without any single hint and asking for an apology letter..like for what if I don't know the reason, it's High-handed behaviour, completely unfair to new users. Don't download ever. it's just frustrating.

Ruma Khatun ★☆☆☆☆ v2.351

This app is really bad.I have been using it for one month,and during this time,four of my user IDs have been permanently banned without any reason or explanation. The worst thing about this app is that only one user ID can be created with one ph number,and you cannot create another user ID using the same number. If possible,please reduce the number of unnecessary ID bans,because not everyone has more than 1/2 number avilable. I am very really disappointed and frustrated with this experience.
