Boo App: Dating. Friends. Chat

Like most of these type apps; the pay walls are super annoying and limited. The near constant pop ups and reminders about purchasing a subscription really feel like begging. Offering a 'lifetime' subscription option seems silly. The point is supposed to be to find someone, and not need the app, so that seems counterintuitive.

The app seems eager to help, but often is not intuitive and ultimately seems too busy trying to be a social media platform than connecting people. It has been weeks of no suggestions, but the app notifies you multiple times a day as if there are. and the spotlight feature to pay money for roses is confusing and not helpful. every few hours: "there hase been an increase in souls nearby". open app and there is nothing.

so far, it's fine. most "likes" or people who reach out are from other countries, so not really conducive to "dating", but if you're just looking to chat with new people that's cool I guess. You can narrow down what area you want to see people in if you pay. see who liked if you pay. basically, unless someone actually messages you or vice-versa, you can't see their profile unless you accept a connection.

Gone on two dates from it, but it didn't end up working out, yet this is still a solid app. The sad thing is how absolutely diabolical the monetization is. I ended up getting the premium service, but it is still crazy how many features are locked behind that $12. As a girl, I usually get a lot of requests so I can't really comment of discoverablily. I've talked to some very sweet people usually from me accepting their match thingy. A good app with sweet people, but awful monetization.

Okay, day 2 and unless I see another way of getting around the limits of this app I will probably uninstall because it's too greedy. I have a bunch of coins and a few requests pending. I cannot view the accounts that like me, and we cannot message each other. It seems like there is no point in using the app if I can't even use my coins to match and chat. I will not spend money for a subscription. At least use an ad feature and still let people match that way.

Kind of typical as far as monetization goes with these types of apps, although not the worst I've seen; it's technically functional, but obviously designed to be limited enough to "encourage" you to pay. A bit buggy at times, especially when it comes to text fields. Whether your goal is friends or dating, results will vary wildly depending on your location. I get a lot of "loves" from people in Mexico, South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia specifically, which I find... interesting.

A pretty good experience initially, it's different from other apps and I liked that it's more tailored towards interests and personality. But the restrictions let it down in major way - I hit my daily limit quickly - and the subscription prices are absolutely nuts. There are daily tasks that offer you extra likes/dislikes but half of them don't work. It's such a shame, because it has a lot of potential. Plus, the ai ads for it are so creepy and weird.

It's cute. The people you find on it tend to be fairly better matched and directed then most apps. The lack of a distance limit or sorting features makes it kind of a nightmare to actually use. You end up mostly being paired with people across the world, and if you have several hundred likes, having no way to sort by gender, interests, or anything else makes it a bit challenging to use. I wouldn't call it a bad app, but I also cannot call it a dating app.

Arguably the best dating app I've used, in terms of not being as predatory on your insecurities to get your money. However, it definitely isn't perfect. A single month subscription is VERY expensive, and just like other apps, the only way to get it cheaper is to pay more up-front for multiple months. I always feel unhappy with this idea on dating apps, as there's no telling if I'll still be using it in X number of months (I could find my partner in that timeframe). Still, I'd recommend giving it

Seems like it would be better in a more populated place. I like how it uses interests to help match that most of why I gave4/5. As it's for friends and/or dating, sexuwal orientation should be made clearer. I think the default is straight, which it doesn't list clearly in profiles. There are some aspects of the "univers" thing and profiles from everywhere that are not my cup of tea, but the match search has plenty of filters. I don't like the allowance of "incognito" that's a scam risk I block.
