Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date

The algorithm is literally designed to show you to a few people when you begin your profile, then disregard you until you pay for the subscription. After which, if you dont pay for the micro-transactions, it shows you to less and less people over time. Other apps utilize similar algorithms but only Bumble is as blatantly obvious in its use. You're much better off using Hinge, which is actually usable on a free account.

This app has become more predatory over the years. Have had a few good dates, but over time they've removed the requirement for women to message first, increased the cost of premium, and switched the spotlight system to 5 spotlights ($17) for a 2.5 hour boost instead of 2 spotlights. I'll go a few weeks without a like and without fail when my subscription ends one will pop up - and when I renew it's typically from someone well outside my 40+ mile area. At least Hinge seems more up front.

Too much is hidden behind unspoken paywalls. If they would tell you up front that you only have three compliments per day or you're only allowed to like one person out of the "for you" page, that knowledge would help you be more selective about who you're liking rather than just trying to keep your options open. The layout of the app itself is fine and straightforward, which I appreciate. I like the ability to leave Compliments which allows you to essentially message the person first.

Not only does this app not make any sort of meaningful connections, it's way too expensive for premium, and the customer service is mediocre at best. I haven't used this app in weeks because I met someone (on a different app) and forgot to cancel, the subscription renewed, I immediately canceled and requested a refund because I don't use the app anymore, and they denied my refund, letting me know that I can "still enjoy the benefits until it ends". I'm not even using Bumble anymore. Useless.

app quality has gone way down after being bought by match group. paid for highest tier and some of the people I matched with didn't show up in the "liked me" list. the calling feature doesn't work very well either. new updates don't seem to fix anything and add a weird feel to the experience. overall very disappointed with the money spent on this subscription. would not recommend. just go to church or join a book club.

I really like how the profiles are redesigned to specifically call out where you currently are, where you LIVE (important) and where you're originally from. but slow loading has been a problem for a while and it still seems to be the case. profiles take several seconds to load sometimes. never have that issue with any other dating apps. sometimes the stack is very slow to load as well. doesn't matter what wifi or cellular I'm on. please fix.

The app glitches. The app didn't let me know to update, so it wouldn't open for two days. Now Im unable to open it even after the update. i have had three days now where I couldn't open the app and those are three days that were paid for and unused. It also lies. I had zero likes and now that the premium has expired I have 50+. So either they hide the likes to keep you paying or lie about the amount to make you subscribe again. Either way it is false advertisement

This app is fishy. I had a ton of "Liked You" matches that required a paid membership to view. I was consistently getting 1-2 every other day. Once you get the paid membership though they suddenly stop. One whole month of paid membership and not one match or like. Then, as soon as the membership ends, the matches start popping back up again. Folks remember, this app makes its money off of you being single

For an app that used to be considered one of the best, it has really fallen off. It's absolutely not usable at this point. Several hours in should be plenty of time on a dating app to find a match or two. But even with a rather open profile, visibility here is beyond limited, everything is hidden behind an incredibly high pay wall, and now you tell me I am limited to 25 selections a day? One can't make meaningful connections if they don't make any connections at all. Will be deleting this app.

Some suggestions for a better Bumble experience would be if likes for NP users were limited to a small weekly amount, like 10, instead of blurred out altogether, and if they want more through the week, they need premium. Same thing with the refreshing of notes for NP users, since that seems to be the only way to get someone to see you if you or them can't see likes. Also, the advanced search option should be for all, and instead make premium for out of state searches. This would help you a lot.
