OkCupid Dating: Date Singles

I don't pay for dating apps. They all want too much money. I've also not had any luck (not the fault of the apps.) So why 4 stars? I feel like OkCupid, out of all the ones I have tried, lets you express yourself. There are a multitude of prompts you can fill out, all having a very generous character limit. I love seeing people who also have their profiles filled out with a lot of information. I really appreciate the freedom here and feel like that sets it apart.

For over 3 months now, I log in and try to go through intros. I cannot afford to pay. There is 1 intro that I cannot delet3 or block the person... I guess he cancelled his account? But I cannot go through all the intros because it won't let me get rid of it! This is awful. And upward? To find y'all are in charge of it too? Please fix!

Its a decent app, but I am frust that I only have a limited amount of likes per day, and that if I accidentally swipe left on someone I didn't mean to, I have no way to undo it (without paying). That whole "pay and you can undo your accident on a person you might actually like" really does not sit right with me. if they changed those features id give it 5 stars.

I do like that the app only shows you people who are looking for the same thing in terms of monogamy or polyamory. However: Distance options are too far apart. You can't apply any dealbreakers at all without paying through the nose. The app keeps showing the same people I already swiped no on over and over and over. I had to resort to blocking every profile I was uninterested in to make it stop. Ads for other dating ups keep popping up constantly. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Distance preferences are basically meaningless. I'm new and set mine to 100 miles, yet after 150+ Discovery profiles, most were outside my range. I had runs of 10+, 27 and even 34 distant profiles, plus recommendations from Indonesia. At 25 miles, Discovery showed 2 profiles then said the stack was empty, while Cupid's Picks suddenly had multiple local profiles requiring SuperLikes. At this point, FetLife might be better for finding an actual date.

I first joined almost 13 years ago. Messaging used to be free. I've been getting notifications saying someone liked me .Which I can't see. I can't see any messages or send messages at all. App is slowly removing features to where it becomes no longer usable. Haven't received messages in 10 years. Since I can't chat with anyone. Can't do anything. Not a paid member. Like $79.99-$99.99 for 3 months. Way too high. I'll stay on Plenty of Fish. I can read and send messages for free.

Angry with deceptive "Super Like" mechanic – It doesn't save them, it blocks them so you can't reach out. The user interface on this app is incredibly misleading. I used my Super Likes on two profiles I was highly interested in, planning to send an Intro message to both. Instead of allowing me to write a message, the app instantly swallowed their profiles. They completely vanished from my view, my deck, and my history. No warning of this! DO NOT BUY!!! The paid version is what screwed me.

it's easy to set up and everything, but you can't even chat or see who liked your profile without paying. I keep getting notifications that someone liked my photos or that I might have a match, but when I got to check, everyone's photos are blurry, and I can't chat to them. unless I pay 39 something dollars.

Was literally using the app in the morning, opened it in the afternoon. Not only was I logged out, my entire account just doesn't exist anymore. No "Forgot my password" email, phone doesn't work, email is incorrect. Everything's just gone. I'm not reanswering all those questions again, screw my like 5 right swipes. But I can't even log in to make sure my accounts actually deleted so good luck anyone I matched with. Like I just signed up last night, didn't even message yet.

Every popup in the app is pushing you to use other dating apps, even offering to transfer your account. Between that and notification badges that are false and don't link to anything when the app opens, this tells me it's just baiting for engagement on a site it wants to die. So, let it die. It was a good run. Even Facebook Dating has more users at this point with the same quality of profiles.
